Job Description
Physiotherapists assess, diagnose, and treat patients with physical injuries, movement disorders, and rehabilitation needs. They design personalised treatment plans using manual therapy, exercise, and functional training to improve mobility, reduce pain, and support recovery. The Job Scope
- Conduct patient assessments, diagnose movement or musculoskeletal disorders, and develop individualised treatment plans.
- Deliver therapeutic interventions including manual therapy, exercise programmes, posture and gait training, and functional rehabilitation.
- Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans, and educate patients on exercises, lifestyle changes, and injury prevention.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and prepare progress reports.
- Collaborate with doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals to provide coordinated care.
- Adhere to clinical protocols, safety guidelines, and participate in professional development.
- Supervise junior staff or interns where applicable.

Academic Requirement

SPM / O-Level
Minimum 3–5 credits, including Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Mathematics, and English
Strong foundation in science subjects recommended

Foundation / Pre-University / Diploma
Foundation in Science / Pre-University with emphasis on Biology and Chemistry
Diploma in Physiotherapy or related healthcare field may allow direct entry to certain degree programmes
Minimum CGPA typically 2.50 (varies by institution)

Bachelor of Physiotherapy (or equivalent) from an accredited institution
3–4 years of full-time study
Includes clinical practicum and supervised training across hospitals, clinics, and rehabilitation centres
Recognised by Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA)

Professional certifications or short courses in manual therapy, sports physiotherapy, neurological rehabilitation, or pediatric physiotherapy.
Membership in Malaysian Physiotherapy Association (MPA) recommended for professional development.
