Automotive engineers are involved in the design, manufacture, distribution, marketing, sales and after-sales care of cars, motorbikes and other commercial vehicles. Engineers will work on the overall look and technical performance of these vehicles and the electronics and software involved with modern vehicles.
The Job Scope
Building prototypes of components to carry out tests on
Organizing and carrying out tests. For example; to check whether engines will work in different conditions, such as high temperatures
Sourcing vehicle components and selecting the best materials to use
Providing technical advice and answering queries from clients
Using specialist computer modelling software to produce designs
Making improvements to vehicles in response to customer feedback
Investigating and solving problems such as mechanical failures

Salary Range
FRESH GRADUATE
A fresh graduate can be offered up to RM3,000 as starting pay
SENIOR LEVEL
A senior with 8 years of experience and above can expect a salary ranging between RM12,000 to RM32,000
