Overview of Legal Services

This industry comprises offices of legal practitioners known as lawyers or attorneys (i.e., counselors) primarily engaged in the practice of law. Establishments in this industry may provide expertise in a range or in specific areas of law, such as criminal law, corporate law, family and estate law, patent law, real estate law, or tax law.

Law's scope can be divided into two domains. Public law concerns government and society, including constitutional law, administrative law, and criminal law. Private law deals with legal disputes between individuals and/or organizations in areas such as contracts, property, torts/delicts and commercial law.
